All lanes have now been reopened.

Previous story

All lanes of I-75 South should reopen by Wednesday afternoon, after a sinkhole closed one lane Tuesday evening.

TDOT says the sinkhole was not that extensive.  It was about four feet in diameter.  Crews dug down around 22 feet to the bedrock to finish the repairs.  The asphalt is being poured Wednesday morning, and traffic should return to normal later today.

Previous story

A sinkhole is affecting traffic on I-75 South in Anderson County.

According to the Tennessee Department of Transportation, the sinkhole opened near milemarker 126, a couple miles south of the Lake City exits.  It was reported around 2:00 pm on Tuesday.

Right now, the right lane is blocked and closed.  The closure is only about 2/10 of a mile in length, and is expected to stay closed until at least tomorrow, when engineers will be able to determine if it can be repaired quickly.

TDOT crews just reopened all lanes of I-75 South in Campbell County, where a landslide took out much of the southbound lanes just north of exit 141, the Oneida/Huntsville exit.
