Tennessee wildlife officials say the bear population in the state is higher than it has been in the last 100 to 150 years, and that population has increased dramatically in the last two decades.
That means there's been a lot of bear-human interaction.
TWRA says it gets hundreds of calls about black bear complaints, and with the fall approaching, the organization says bears will be on the hunt for easier and more nutritious food sources, so sightings may go up.
TWRA is reminding folks to store garbage in bear-proof containers, keep your pet food inside, and clean your grills.
