A truck was struck by a train in West Knox County Saturday afternoon, according to the Knox County Sheriff's Office.
Officials say 22-year-old Tony Ogle, Jr. was driving a Ryder box truck around 1 p.m. on Willow Creek Drive when he crossed the train tracks and stopped, leaving the rear of the vehicle on the track.
A Norfolk Southern train struck the rear of the truck. The driver of the train says he tried, but was unable to stop in time.
Ogle and a passenger were transported to Parkwest Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Ogle has been cited for failure to obey train signals.
