Three nuclear weapons protesters who are accused of breaking into the Y-12 security complex are asking for more time before their trial starts.
Michael Walli, 63, Greg Boertje-obed, 57, and Megan Rice, 82, a Catholic nun, are asking for an extentsion of their pretrial deadlines and a new, later trial date.
Attorneys for the three argue a delay is needed because of international media attention and the case's complexity.
According to the motions, if the case were to go to trial on October 10, it would violate their rights to a fair trial and due process.
The US Attorney's office says it has no objection to a delay.
The trio could face up to 16 years in prison.
