Good news for local AT&T customers. 4-G service will soon be in Knoxville.
Thursday, the cell phone carrier announced its plans to roll out 4-G LTE by the end of 2012.
The company says customers will get mobile internet speeds up to 10-times faster than 3G. This allows them to download, stream and upload even quicker.
Nationwide, AT&T's 4G network covers 275-million people.
Right now in Knoxville, Verizon is the only provider with 4G service.
