Several streets surrounding the 300 block of Washington Ave. were closed Monday morning as the Maryville Fire Department battled a large building fire.
The Maryville Fire Department says they found out about the fire at the Law Building around 5:02 a.m.
According to crews, they first located smoke coming out of an electrical closet. They then discovered more smoke in the attic. Fire fighters were placed on the roof. When the fire took a turn for the worse, crews were pulled out of the 15 tenant building.
At the time of this posting, Maryville Fire Department had several fire engines and a ladder truck working the fire.
A fire official said it would be several hours until the scene was cleared.
No one was inside the building when the fire started. There have been no reported injuries.
