District action really heats up in Week 4 of high school football.

The biggest game of them all is West at Farragut.

The Rebels look strong coming off of two straight trips to the 5A state semifinals but coach Scott Cummings is 0-5 in his career against Farragut.

West's only loss came against powerhouse Maryville, but Cummings' squad gave the defending champs a fight.

Quarterback Ryan Francis, coming off a four touchdown game, will lead the Rebels triple option attack against reigning Defensive Player of the Week Nick Henningsen and the Farragut defense.

The Admirals suffered early season losses to Oak Ridge and state power Dobyns-Bennett. Farragut trailed Oak Ridge 21-3 at the half but rallied to make it a game. The final was 28-24. Head coach Eddie Courtney says his team bonded together at halftime of that contest and that has been the difference in recent weeks.

Farragut has since beaten district rival Catholic (34-21) and state ranked McMinn County (23-10).

Another District 4-AAA game features a battle of two unbeaten teams, Bearden and Lenoir City.

The Bulldogs have rolled through their first four games, allowing an average of 6.5 points while scoring at least 37 in every game.

Lenoir City finally beat cross-county rival Loudon for the first time since 2004. Returning starters QB Jordan Hall and tight end Lucas Hamilton provide the spark in the Panthers offense.

The Panthers have climbed to No. 2 in the 5A state rankings while Bearden is ranked 8th in 6A.

The defending champion Warriors are looking to keep their ten game winning streak alive after a big win over Grace Christian last week.

Loudon picked up its first victory last week, beating McMinn Central  42-28.

Perhaps the biggest surprise of 2012 is Seymour. After winning only five games combined in the last two seasons, the Eagles are off to a 4-0 start.

They face another upstart squad in Jefferson County. The Patriots only loss came by one point to Sevier County.

Austin-East needs a win against Carter to right the ship. The Roadrunners started 0-4 against perhaps the toughest schedule in East Tennessee. A-E has faced four state ranked teams in West (5A #3), Powell (5A #9), Fulton (4A #3) and Alcoa (3A #2).

This will be a key game for both schools as they try to setup themselves up for a run at the District 3-AA title.
