A construction supervisor in the public service department resigned Friday in lieu of termination.
Max Newman had worked with the city for 31 years.
His resignation comes after the city had received information about problems in the department involving unauthorized use or removal of city property.
The results of a city and KPD investigation were presented to Newman.
A criminal investigation is ongoing.
