Rain should soak Middle Tennessee throughout the day Monday, with a flood watch in place for most of the area.
Slick roads should dampen morning commutes, with periods of heavy rain possible this evening, according to the National Weather Service.
Three to five inches of rain is possible in most of the Nashville area, with the northwest expected to escape heavier rainfall.
The Cumberland plateau will likely get the most rain, an NWS meteorologist said.
Rain should begin to taper off Tuesday morning.
