Steady rains cause morning flooding

Several roads across East Tennessee were flooded Tuesday morning following close to 24 hours of steady rain.

According to a Red Cross press release, the organization helped a family living on Ault Road after they evacuated their home due to flooding.  The family has been temporarily located to a motel.

Here is a list of the roads local dispatchers say were flooded as of 7:32 a.m.

Anderson Co:

  • Airport Road in Oliver Springs is closed

Bell County KY:

  • no problems reported

Blount County:

  • tree on truck on Calderwood Hwy north of Hwy 72, no injuries. more flooding at Marble Hill Rd., Cloyd's Church Rd., and Wildwood.

Campbell County:

  • no problems reported

Claiborne County:

  • no problems reported

Cocke County:

  • no problems reported

Cumberland County:

  • no problems reported

Fentress County:

  • no problems reported

Grainger County:

  • no problems reported

Greene County:

  • no problems reported

Hamblen County:

  • no problems reported

Harlan County, KY:

  • no problems reported

Jefferson County:

  • no problems reported

Knox County:

  • Concord Street flooded, Cherokee Bluff at Cherokee Village, Cherokee Trail, First Creek along Broadway in north Knoxville, Cross Park at Corporate, Ebeneezer at Kingston Pike

Knox County, KY:

  • no problems reported

Loudon County:

  • no problems reported

McCreary County, KY:

  • no problems reported
McMinn County:
  • some roads flooded throughout the county, mostly side roads, Etowah has several roads flooded, no reports of any water rescues

Monroe County:

  • numerous roads closed because of flooding, one rescue from a vehicle earlier; Watson Trace & County Farm Road high water.  Ballplay Road, Old Federal Rd, Isbell Rd, County Farm Rd., Fairview, Big Creek, Crowder, and Olde Sink Rd. near Wilson Creek a school bus was stopped by high water and could not turn around. No one was injured.

Roane County:

  • 27 side of Mountain View Road in Rockwood

Sevier County:

  • no problems reported

Union County:

  • no problems reported
