Knox County Commission Chairman Tony Norman withdrew his resolution Monday to withhold funding from the Knoxville Chamber.
He made the move "in the spirit of hopefulness," after Knox Finance Director Chris Caldwell reported to commission that the department's examination of the chamber's expense came up clean.
Norman spearheaded the effort to withhold public dollars from the chamber until they released information on the source of funding for advocacy campaigns.
He expressed concern the chamber may have used taxpayer money to fund their efforts supporting the proposed Knox County School's budget increase.
Caldwell said their inquiry did turn up a minor accounting error, but it was remedied.
He also recommended the chamber establish an separate account for Knox County dollars, which he says they agreed to.
