Folks gathered Thursday evening to raise money for an organization that ministers to Knoxville's homeless community. Lost Sheep Ministries supports Knoxville's homeless population with medical care and a weekly dinner.
"If we didn't have this, we wouldn't get through the winter financially," said Tommye McGinnis.
Thursday's banquet included dinner, a silent auction and Barbara Dooley was featured as the guest speaker. Mrs. Dooley said she can't begin to wrap her head around the impact the ministry has in the homeless community.
"They feed 1,200 people a week-- can you imagine that?! My message tonight is going to have to be love, love and faith, cause that's what it's all about," said Dooley.
The banquet is also an opportunity for Lost Sheep Ministries to showcase what they do in the community, and how they use the donated money.
