A one-car injury accident backed up traffic in North Knoxville Saturday morning.
The crash happened around 10 a.m. in the westbound lanes of Interstate 640 near Broadway, according to a release from the Knoxville Police Department.
The driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, was pinned and had to be extricated by Knoxville firefighters.
Rural/Metro transported the driver to UT Medical Center with serious injuries. However, police note the driver was listed in stable condition before they left the scene.
