Officials say they found a suspect connected with the illegal tire dumping at a Northeast Knoxville business. Authorities are still searching for a second suspect, but say they have some good leads.
According to city officials, they tracked down one of those men from callers' tips.
It occurred near a warehouse at the 1700 block of Whittle Springs. A surveillance video caught the duo in action in broad daylight.
That company placed the video on YouTube.
"People called. I think technology and the internet make it a lot easier for people to snap a photo or a video. The posting on YouTube really got it," said David Brace, public works director.
The suspect has been cited and has a court date in December. He could face some fines for the clean-up and illegal dumping.
Officers are working on leads to locate the other suspect.
