Former Lady Vol and WNBA basketball player Chamique Holdsclaw turned herself into police in Atlanta Thursday night. She was being held on a $10,000 bond.
Holdsclaw is accused of vandalizing a car with a baseball bat and firing a gun into it.
The incident happened on Tuesday, November 13, according to a report by the Atlanta Police Department.
Jennifer Lacy told the responding officer that her ex-girlfriend, Holdslaw, had damaged her car. Lacy said she saw Holdsclaw following her, and drove to a friend's house because she was scared. When she arrived, she said Holdsclaw got out of her car with a bat and smashed in the driver's and backseat windows. She said Holdsclaw then "stuck a pistol inside the car, then shot at the other door." After that, Lacy said Holdsclaw left.
As a Lady Vol, Holdsclaw won three national championships, in 1996, 1997, and 1998. She went on to a successful WNBA career and won a gold medal in the Olympics. She has since retired from basketball.
More recently, Holdsclaw released a book called "Breaking Through: Beating The Odds Shot After Shot," about her struggles with depression.
