The largest resort in the Smokies is expanding.
Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort and Spa is adding an additional four-story building that will add about 72 new villas to its line-up of hotel and time share options. The resort includes a spa and a large indoor water park.
Managers say they're expanding the resort to accommodate Sevier County's growing tourism business.
Work on the new addition is already underway. It's expected to be finished in the spring. The expansion is expected to add about 30 to 40 seasonal jobs.
