The body of a man who was killed in a vehicle crash Wednesday night wasn't discovered until the next day.
The Knox County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash, which happened around 9:30 pm at 7918 Thorngrove Pike. The driver of the vehicle was not in the SUV, so deputies thought he may have left the scene.
KCSO says deputies searched the area for the driver until 3:00 am, and were even assisted by Rural/Metro with special thermal imaging technology.
Thursday morning, a friend of the victim found the body of 20-year-old Zachary Reagan about 50 yards from the crash scene in a thicket.
Investigators believe Reagan was ejected from his Ford Explorer, which had rolled and landed on its top. Officers say speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.
Reagan wrecked about a half mile from his home on Thorngrove Pike.
