A hiker was flown to UT Medical Center after park officials said he fell on Alum Cave Trail, about a half-mile above the bluffs.
The Great Smoky Mountains National Park Public Affairs Office said the man, 55, had several lacerations from the fall.
Park officials said a carryout crew was able to get the hiker back to trailhead, where he was transported to a Gatlinburg fire station and flown to UT Medical Center.
Updates on his condition were not immediately available.
