Tennessee Vols basketball coach Bruce Pearl said he considered not being on the bench for Saturday's game with Connecticut.
Pearl said at his weekly media conference he thought about not being there even though he is allowed to coach against UConn since it is not an SEC game. He is serving an eight game SEC suspension related to NCAA issues.
Pearl said he didn't see any advantage to not being there, since he coaches the team every day in practice.
The Vols coach talked about the improved play of center Brian Williams and the stepped up defense of Scotty Hopson.
Pearl also addressed playing the Huskies who have developed into a top five team and one of the best in the Big East.
