Cubs catcher joins Smokies to rehab knee

KODAK, Tenn. (AP) -- Chicago Cubs catcher Welington Castillo has joined the Knoxville Smokies to rehab a strained right knee.

The Class AA Smokies said Friday that Castillo is tentatively scheduled to play this weekend. He went on the disabled list May 17 and was hitting .185 with one home run in seven games.

He began the season with the Iowa Cubs in Class AAA.
