On Sunday, two former Tennessee athletes advanced to the 2012 London Olympics.

Former Vol Justin Gatlin won the 100 meter dash with a personal best 9.80 seconds.

Gatlin won a gold medal in the 2004 Olympics. A few years later, he tested positive for a banned substance. In 2007, Gatlin received a four-year ban from the sport.

Former Lady Vol Dee Dee Trotter finished second in the 400 meter finals. She advances to her third Olympics Games. At 29 years old, Trotter already has one gold medal from the 2004 Olympics.
