The 2012 Summer Olympics are officially over and eight athletes with East Tennessee ties are leaving the event accomplishing something few others in the world have done.
Swimmer Davis Tarwater is a Webb School graduate. Swimmer Claire Donahue is from Lenoir City.
They, and six other athletes who attended UT, all left London with a gold, silver or bronze medal. Results are below:

- Dee Dee Trotter, Women's 4x400m Relay - Gold 3:16.87
- Dee Dee Trotter, Women's 400m - Bronze 49.72
- Justin Gatlin, Men's 4x100m Relay - Silver 37.04
- Justin Gatlin, Men's 100m - Bronze 9.79
"This is pride, this is what it's all about," Trotter said after she won her Olympics event.
It was her third time competing in the games.
