NFL wide receiver and Alcoa native Randall Cobb retuned to East Tennessee Friday, giving back to his hometown.

He visited with kids at Alcoa Elementary, his former school.

Cobb is starting the Blessings in a Backpack program there.  It provides underprivileged students with a backpack full of food to take home over the weekend.

Cobb says he first read about the national program, and thought why not bring it to East Tennessee?

"This community raised me, I grew up in this school. These teachers taught me, the staff is mostly the same. Just being able to come back and give back," said Cobb, who now plays for the Green Bay Packers.  He played for the Kentucky Wildcats in college.

The Blessings in a Backpack program will benefit more than 100 Alcoa Elementary students.
