UT Athletic Director Dave Hart was very complimentary of Coach Derek Dooley during Sunday's press conference to announce Dooley's firing.
Hart says Dooley came into a difficult situation with the football team, that he enjoyed working with Dooley, and thinks Dooley did a good job coaching, but the results just weren't want everyone wanted.
"The results weren't what he wanted, what the team wanted, what the fan base wanted," said Hart.
He says he enjoyed the last 13 months working with Dooley, and that moving forward, he is looking for more stability for the team.
"We've now had four football coaches in six years. We need stability," he said.
Hart says Darin Hinshaw and Jay Graham will be spearheading the effort of recruiting new players. He also says December is a critical month during which a lot of big decisions are made.
