UT has a new head football coach, and so far, the reaction hasn't been overwhelmingly positive on social media.

The last time Butch Jones was at Neyland Stadium, his Cincinnati team lost to Coach Derek Dooley and the Vols 45-23.

On Friday afternoon, he'll be introduced as the man expected to lead the Vols back to national prominence.  It's a big job, but one that Jones has coveted.

According to an article by Brent Hubbs at Volquest.com, "Tennessee fans should be excited about how excited Jones is about his chance with the Big Orange. He wanted to become Tennessee's coach badly. And by all rights, he is well-qualified to do the job. The fact is that Jones, according to many you talk to throughout football both in the college and pro football, draws rave reviews."

"But the only reviews Tennessee fans are interested in seeing are on autumn Saturdays; the product with their own eyes. Never has the Vol fan base had as overriding "prove it to me" mentality as they have right now."

Fans will hear from Jones at the 2:30 press conference on Friday, which you can watch live on WBIR-TV and WBIR.com.  But what he says will hardly matter to many of them.  What they want is someone who can get wins on the football field.

Hubbs says Jones needs not to worry about impressing the fans at the press conference.  His focus should be on putting together a winning staff and a good recruiting class.  Jones is expected to bring some members of his U.C. staff with him, including his defensive coordinator.
