The Knoxville Ice Bears ended their 2012-2013 season as they fell to the Pensacola Ice Flyers 1-0 in game 2 of the SPHL Semi-Finals.

The first period was a back and forth affair with Ice Bears' goalie Bryan Hince turned aside 19 first period shots.  Pensacola's high shot total was aided by two first period power-play opportunities.  Knoxville was not awarded a power-play in the first period.

The second period was in many ways a continuation of the first.  Pensacola was awarded three additional power-plays, including a 4-on-3 opportunity after Knoxville's Jon Higgins was called from tripping at 13:48.  Knoxville continued their postseason penalty killing brilliance by holding off all five of Pensacola's extra-man advantages.

Pensacola outshot Knoxville 18-12 in the second period, totaling 37 shots through two periods, all of which were turned aside by Hince.

Knoxville's Eric Satim led an end-to-end rush that resulted in his feet being taken out on his way to the net as the period came to a close, giving Knoxville only their second power-play after 39 minutes of play.

The game remained scoreless until the 9:07 mark of the third period.  Pensacola fired the puck to the goal mouth forcing  Bryan Hince to make a spectacular stick save; but the puck flipped up into the air and was cleanly batted into the net by Pensacola's Patrick Knowlton.

Knoxville battled for the tying goal, but Ice Flyers goaltender Ross McKinnon was equal to every shot, down to his final stop with 2 seconds remaining in the game.

When the final horn sounded, Knoxville was eliminated on a 1-0 shutout by Pensacola for the second consecutive season.
Ice Bears goalie Bryan Hince stopped 46 of 47 shots in the loss, giving him a record of 2-2 in the playoffs, with a goals against average of 1.01 and a save percentage of .969, which lead the SPHL playoffs.
