The Tennessee softball team, in association with Team IMPACT, is sponsoring/adopting an 8-year-old girl named Averi Ramsey.
In March 2012, Averi was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia - the most common form of blood cancer found in children. She is in the third and final maintenance phase of her two-and-a-half year treatment plan and will continue treatment for another 18 months.
She was named the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's 2013 Girl of the Year for Knoxville.
Each child associated with Team IMPACT becomes a part of the team and stays connected with the team season after season.
