Former Tennessee Vol forward Tobias Harris was in town over the weekend
playing pick-up and giving NBA knowledge to his old teammates.
"Just playing with some of the guys i played with my freshman year....show them a little some of the habits that i have from just being in the NBA," said Harris
One of those teammates from freshman year was Trae Golden. Golden says the NBA hasn't changed Harris. "He's the same guy." said Golden.
"We're still best friends from the first day we met. You know having him back is great. We talk about a lot of stories in the NBA. I tell him about what's going on in college basketball. We just connect and have a good time," Golden says.
Harris is coming off his second season in the NBA and he already has a veteran mentality following a trade from the Milwaukee Bucks to the Orlando Magic. He responded with one of his biggest games of the year against the Bucks where scored 30 points and grabbed 19 rebounds. Harris averaged 17 points, and 8.5 boards after the trade.
"You know, the trade happened. I'll say it was for the better. I'm in a situation in Orlando now where i get to play and show my game. I'm really happy to be there," said Harris
Harris says he hopes to keep improving, lead the magic to playoffs, and hopefully make the all-star game next season.
