From the Smokies--

KODAK, Tenn. - Kyle Hendricks allowed just two hits in his five innings of work, but the Tennessee Smokies were unable to score on the Huntsville Stars starter David Goforth and fell in Game One of the doubleheader, 2-0. The Stars plated two runs off Hendricks on Mike Walker's two-out, two-RBI double in the fourth inning. The Smokies were only able to muster two hits in the game off Goforth. Hendricks (8-3) surrendered the two runs on two hits, while striking out five in five inning.

The Tennessee Smokies rallied late, but were unable to overcome late runs by the Huntsville Stars and fell in extra innings in the night cap of Monday's doubleheader, 6-3. Down 3-1 in the seventh (in a seven-inning game), the Smokies scored two runs to tie the game and send the game in to extras. However, Huntsville scored three runs in the eighth inning off reliever Frank Batista to secure the victory. Rubi Silva went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI in Game Two.
