Riley Branch is your typical 4-year-old with his toys, and his passion for swinging on the playground. Riley also loves to swing his golf clubs too. After his mother, Brittany, discovered Riley was having fun hacking it up a little spot next to house, she called about putting him in a golf camp.
"It was for Ruggles Ferry Golf Camp," said Brittany. "I asked (the counselor) since (Riley) was four if he could come to the golf camp. They said they would see him hit and see if he could play as well as the six-year-olds."
Scott Branch, Riley's father, was skeptical.
"I thought he was way too young," said Scott. "I thought that he wouldn't do good. At first he had a hard time listening to me when I would try to tell him to hit the ball. Then again I thought that maybe it would be a good thing him hearing from somebody else."
Riley went to the camp and played in a tournament with older kids and held his own. He wound up finishing in the middle of the pack with kids 6-12 years of age.
"I did really good. I hit the golf ball good," said Riley.
