New York, New York (Sports Network) - Will Spradling scored 12 points as
he helped the Kansas State Wildcats to a 66-63 NIT Tip-Off semi-final win over
the Delaware Blue Hens at Madison Square Garden.
Spradling dished out seven assists and grabbed six rebounds for the Wildcats
(5-0) who have won their first five games in the first season under head coach
Bruce Weber. Angel Rodriguez had 12 points with five assists while Thomas
Gipson had 12 points with six rebounds.
Devon Saddler scored 32 points to go with five rebounds and four assists in a
valiant effort for the Blue Hens (2-2). Jamelle Hagins recorded his
third double-double in four games as he tallied 12 points and 15 rebounds.
Kansas State led 27-25 at halftime despite shooting only 30.3 percent from the
field.
In the second half the Wildcats shot much better at 46.9 percent and were
able to outscore Delaware 39-38.
Kansas State will play the winner of fourth-ranked Michigan and Pittsburgh in
the finals on Saturday.
