Kent, OH (Sports Network) - T.J. Bray had a team-high 15 points as the
Princeton Tigers defeated the Kent State Golden Flashes, 62-50, in a non-
conference tilt at the MAC Center.
Bray was a perfect 3-of-3 beyond the arc to go with his six assists, five
rebounds , and four steals for Princeton (3-4). Denton Koon scored
10 points after going a perfect 5-of-5 on his attempts from the floor and
Brendan Connolly contributed 11 points.
Chris Evans was two rebounds short of a double-double, scoring a game-high 18
points, but was the only player to score in double-figures for Kent State
(5-3). Randal Holt chipped in nine points and Kris Brewer also scored nine to
go along with six boards off the bench. The loss snaps Kent State's three-game
winning streak.
Princeton started out on a 16-2 run in the first 10 minutes of play,
eventually taking a 31-23 advantage at the break. Kent State managed to
convert only 8-of-25 field goal tries in the first frame.
The Tigers continued their solid play second half by shooting 55 percent from
the floor and outrebounding the hosts, 17-14. The Golden Flashes connected on
only 35.6 percent of their field goal attempts over the final 20 minutes.
Princeton was 47.4 percent from long-range, shooting 9-of-19, while the Golden
Flashes made only 3-of-11 beyond the arc in the contest.
