Orlando, FL (Sports Network) - Durand Scott scored 17 points and Reggie
Johnson posted a double-double as the Miami-Florida Hurricanes dispatched the
UCF Knights, 72-50, in an intrastate duel at UCF Arena.
Johnson scored 16 points and pulled down 13 rebounds for Miami (7-1) which won
its sixth straight. Shane Larkin had 11 points and six assists while Kenny
Kadji provided 10 points and eight rebounds.
Keith Clanton scored 15 points and was a rebound shy of a double-double for
UCF (6-3). The Knights had a three-game winning streak snapped with the loss.
Miami got out to a 37-21 lead at the break after shooting at a 51.7 percent
clip in the first half. That included a 5-of-11 effort from beyond the arc.
UCF connected on only 30.4 percent of its shots and hit just 1-of-9 from 3-
point range.
The Hurricanes cooled to 44.8 percent shooting in the second half but that was
still better than UCF which improved to 40.0 percent.
Miami outscored UCF 34-22 on points in the paint and 19-7 on second chance
points. The Hurricanes had a 39-26 edge in rebounds.
