Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) - Dylon Cormier scored 21 points, cleared seven
rebounds and handed out six assists as he helped lead the Loyola-Maryland
Greyhounds to a 71-65 win over the Rider Broncs in Metro Atlantic Athletic
Conference play at Reitz Arena.
Also scoring 21 points for the Greyhounds (10-5, 2-1 MAAC) was Erik Etherly
who pulled down a game-high eight boards as the team snapped a brief two-game
slide. Robert Olson and Anthony Winbush both chipped in with 10 points in the
victory.
The Broncs (6-9, 1-2) were paced by Daniel Stewart with 13 points, followed by
Anthony Myles, Jonathon Thompson and Tommy Pereira with 11 points apiece as
the squad bowed for the fifth time in as many games.
Rider opened the game with a 3-0 advantage, but with the score knotted at
25-25 with just over two minutes remaining in the half, Loyola put together a
6-0 run in order to grab a 31-25 edge at the break.
In the second half both teams shot at least 50 percent from the field, but the
Greyhounds outscored the visitors at the charity stripe in the period, 14-6,
en route to the six-point win.
In addition to losing the rebounding battle, 38-29, Rider also shot just 10-
of-19 at the free-throw line on the night.
