Washington, D.C. (Sports Network) - Isaiah Armwood recorded a double-double
with 11 points and 14 rebounds for the George Washington Colonials, who
defeated the St. Bonaventure Bonnies, 78-59, in an Atlantic 10 clash at the
Smith Athletic Center.
Armwood was 5-of-8 from the field with five blocks for the Colonials (7-7, 1-0
A-10), who have won three of their last four. Kethan Savage and Patricio
Garino scored 12 points each, while Lasan Kromah led the team in scoring with
14 points off the bench.
Chris Johnson paced the Bonnies (7-7, 0-1) with 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting
as they lost their fourth consecutive game. Demetrius Conger scored 11 points,
while Eric Mosley added 10 off the bench.
George Washington led 46-32 at the break after shooting 65.5 percent from the
field in the first half.
In the second half, the Colonials outscored the Bonnies 32-27, shooting 45.0
percent from the floor and holding St. Bonaventure to 37.9 percent.
George Washington was an efficient 6-of-12 from 3-point range, while the
Bonnies netted only 3-of-18 from beyond the arc.
