Charleston, SC (Sports Network) - Anthony Stitt scored a game-high 20 points,
leading five players in double figures, as the College of Charleston crushed
the Chattanooga Mocs, 86-59, in a Southern Conference matchup at TD Arena.
Adjehi Baru and Willis Hall both tallied 13 points for the Cougars (11-5, 3-1
SoCon), combining for 17 rebounds as well, while Trent Wiedeman and Anthony
Thomas dropped in 11 points apiece, the latter tying Baru for the rebounding
lead with nine as the team won for the sixth time in seven tries.
The only player to score in double figures for the Mocs (7-10, 2-2) was
Ronrico White with a mere 10 points, hitting 2-of-4 shots from the floor while
the rest of the starters combined to make just 8-of-35. The team had a two-
game win streak snapped in the process.
Charleston erupted for 56.3 percent shooting from the floor in the first half,
while limiting the visitors to just 31.0 percent, en route to a commanding
50-24 advantage at the break.
In the second half the Mocs jumped up to 38.7 percent from the field, but a
mere 2-of-8 effort on the perimeter prevented them from making a serious
comeback attempt.
The Cougars won the rebounding battle, 46-32, as they finished up at an even
50 percent from the floor.
