Hempstead, NY (Sports Network) - A Frantz Massenat 50-foot 3-pointer at the
buzzer lifted the Drexel Dragons to a thrilling 55-52 win over the Hofstra
Pride in Colonial Athletic Association play at Mack Sports Complex.
Massenat recorded 14 points and five rebounds for the Dragons (7-11, 3-3 CAA)
in the stunning victory. Damion Lee also scored 14 points as Drexel won for
the second time in as many games.
For the Pride (5-14, 2-4), Taran Buie tied his career-high with 29 points, but
was the only player in double figures as Hofstra had its losing streak
extended to three games.
Hofstra shot 38.3 percent from the floor in the first half, while Drexel made
only 37.9 percent of its field goals. Drexel was a perfect 4-of-4 at the free-
throw line, en route to a 28-25 advantage at the break.
Both teams scored 27 points in the second half, with the long-distance
conversion by Massenat providing the visitors with the victory.
The Dragons made 9-of-11 at the foul line and their bench outscored the
reserves for the Pride, 20-0.
