San Diego, CA (Sports Network) - Marc Trasolini tallied 23 points, eight
rebounds, and three blocks to help lead the Santa Clara Broncos past the San
Diego Toreros in a West Coast Conference tilt at Jenny Craig Pavilion.
Trasolini shot 10-of-15 from the field for Santa Clara (16-6, 4-3 WCC), which
has won four in a row. Evan Roquemore scored 18 points, and Kevin Foster
chipped in 15 points and five assists for the visitors.
For San Diego (11-11, 4-3), Ken Rancifer put up 14 points but did so on just
4-of-12 from the field. The Toreros, who have lost three in a row, shot only
37.5 percent from the field and 9-of-18 from the foul line in the game.
Santa Clara shot less than 33 percent from the field in the first half, but it
was able to take a 27-23 lead at intermission by forcing 11 San Diego
turnovers.
The Bronco's field goal efficiency improved to 57.9 percent after the break as
they cruised to the 14-point victory.
Santa Clara took advantage of its trips to the foul line, shooting 18-of-21
from the stripe.
