Fresno, CA (Sports Network) - Kevin Olekaibe notched a season-high 21 points
to lead the Fresno State Bulldogs to a 64-55 upset victory over the UNLV
Runnin' Rebels in a Mountain West clash at the Save Mart Center.
Tyler Johnson added a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds and Kevin
Foster narrowly missed another, scoring 13 points on 5-of-6 from the field to
go along with eight boards. Allen Huddleston chipped in 11 points off the
bench as Fresno State (8-13, 2-6 MWC) snapped a four-game losing streak.
Anthony Marshall paced UNLV (17-6, 4-4) with 19 points and Anthony Bennett had
15 points and nine rebounds.
Neither team led by more than four points in a low-scoring first half, which
ended 24-24.
Leading 32-31 at the 14:50 mark of the second half, Tyler Johnson sparked a
17-2 FSU run with six straight points which allowed the Bulldogs to pull away.
UNLV lost despite outrebounding FSU, 44-35. The Rebels still lead the all-time
series, 27-7.
