Grand Forks, ND (Sports Network) - Troy Huff logged a double-double with 13
points and 10 rebounds as he helped lead North Dakota to a slim 49-48 win over
the Sacramento State Hornets in Big Sky Conference action at the Betty
Engelstad Sioux Center.
Lenny Antwi made good on 3-of-5 shots behind the 3-point line for North Dakota
(11-13, 8-7 Big Sky) as the team won for the third time in four outings.
The Hornets (12-11, 7-8) were paced by John Dickson who also had a double-
double with 19 points and 10 rebounds, while Konner Veteto posted 16 points
and nine boards of his own even as he dealt with foul trouble as the team had
a two-game win streak snapped.
Both squads had trouble shooting the ball in the first half, yet even with
missing all six attempts on the perimeter, the Hornets found themselves tied
at the break, 23-23. UND made good on a mere 8-of-24 from the floor through
the first 20 minutes of action.
In the second half the hosts began to find their shooting touch, moving out to
a 12-point advantage midway through the frame thanks more to Sacramento
State's awful shooting (8-of-26) than anything else.
Dickson had a chance to win the game for the Hornets, but his long 3-point
attempt above the top of the key bounced off the heel of the rim as time
expired.
