Stockton, CA (Sports Network) - Lorenzo McCloud registered a double-double
with 20 points and 12 rebounds as the Pacific Tigers posted an 80-71 win over
the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors in a Big West Conference matchup at the Spanos
Center.
Travis Fulton knocked down 10-of-15 shots from the floor as he finished with a
game-high 23 points for the Tigers (15-10, 9-4 Big West), followed by Sama
Taku who used a perfect 10-of-10 showing at the free-throw line to come up
with 13 points in the team's second straight win.
Hawaii (15-11, 9-6) was paced by Christian Standhardinger who came up with 20
points and nine rebounds for the visitors as they suffered a second
consecutive setback. Isaac Fotu responded with 12 points in 14 minutes off the
bench, while Vander Joaquim added 10 points.
Shooting 51.9 percent from the floor in the first half, the Rainbow Warriors
managed to move out to a slim 36-33 advantage at the break.
In the second half Pacific erupted for 54.5 percent accuracy from the field
and at the same time limited the visitors to 37.9 percent in order to claim
the nine-point home win.
The difference in the game came at the free-throw line where the Tigers
outscored Hawaii by a 27-15 margin.
