Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - Paris Gulley recorded a game-high 17 points
as the Milwaukee Panthers defeated the Illinois-Chicago Flames, 64-53, in
Horizon League action at the Klotsche Center.
Gulley also added three assists and two steals but was the only player to
score in double figures for the Panthers (7-22, 3-12 Horizon), who snapped a
two-game losing streak.
For the Flames (15-12, 6-8), Gary Talton was two rebounds shy of a double-
double with 13 points. UIC has lost four of its last five games.
In the first half, UIC was held to a mere 8-of-27 from the floor (.296) while
Milwaukee made 45.5 percent of its field goal attempts. The Panthers carried a
27-22 advantage into the break.
Milwaukee again shot 45.5 percent from the floor in the second half, including
4-of-7 from long-range. It also connected on 13-of-17 from the free-throw line
as it held on to its advantage throughout the final 20 minutes.
Milwaukee shot 9-of-20 from beyond the arc, while UIC was just 5-of-18 from 3-
point range.
