Bozeman, MT (Sports Network) - Brandon Bos scored 21 points to lead all
five starters in double figures for the South Dakota coyotes who dispatched
the Montana State Bobcats, 85-74, in a BracketBusters matchup at Worthington
Arena.
Juevol Myles netted 16 points and handed out seven assists, Trevor Gruis
and Casey Kasperbauer each added 14 points and Tyler Flack chipped in 11
points for South Dakota (9-18) which ended a six-game losing streak.
Montana State (10-15) was paced by Xavier Blount who scored 16 points.
Antonio Biglow added 15 points, Christian Moon tacked on 12 points,
Flavien Davis contributed 11 points and Paul Egwuonwu tallied 10 rebounds
as the Bobcats lost their fifth straight game.
In the first half South Dakota shot 41.9 percent from the floor and
knocked down five shots from 3-point range. Montana State shot a superior
43.3 percent but had just three triples while being outscored 5-0 from the
free-throw line. The Coyotes led 36-29 at the break.
After intermission the Coyotes improved to 58.3 percent shooting while
nailing 16-of-17 from the free-throw line to secure the victory.
Though both teams were guilty of 12 turnovers in the contest, South Dakota
had a 23-10 edge in points off of takeaways.
