points as the Washington Huskies came from behind to take down the Washington
State Cougars, 72-68, in a Pac-12 Conference clash at Alaska Airlines Arena.
Suggs shot 5-of-8 from 3-point range for Washington (16-13, 8-8 Pac-12), while
Wilcox added four steals and two blocks. The Huskies are now winners of back-
to-back games.
Brock Motum and Royce Woolridge netted 18 points apiece for Washington State
(11-18, 2-14), which saw its season-long losing streak extend to nine games.
D.J. Shelton added 11 points, while DaVonte Lacy chipped in 10 points for the
visitors.
Both Washington State (.611) and Washington (.560) were red-hot from the field
in the opening 20 minutes, although a layup by Abdul Gaddy in the waning
seconds of the stanza gave the Huskies a 34-32 lead at halftime.
The Cougars scored the first six points of the second half and continued to
lead until Gaddy came up with another clutch basket at the 6:34 mark to give
the Huskies a 55-54 advantage. Washington held on to the lead down the stretch
thanks to its especially active period from the foul line (16-of-25).
Washington State was never closer than four points of the lead in the final
three minutes.
The Huskies scored 25 points off of 18 turnovers by the Cougars.
