Moon Township, PA (Sports Network) - Karvel Anderson scored 20 points off the
bench to lead the Robert Morris Colonials to a 75-57 win over the St. Francis
(NY) Terriers in the quarterfinals of the Northeast Conference tournament at
the Charles L. Sewall Center.
Russell Johnson had 19 points and Lucky Jones netted 16 points for top-seeded
Robert Morris (23-9), which advanced to the semifinals to take on Mount St.
Mary's. Velton Jones added eight assists.
Jalen Cannon and Dre Calloway tallied 15 and 14 points, respectively, for St.
Francis (12-18).
Robert Morris shot 45.2 percent from the floor in the first half while St.
Francis hit at just a 33.3 percent clip. The Colonials also forced nine
turnovers and led 37-23 at halftime. St. Francis was held scoreless for the
final 4:03 of the period.
Coron Williams opened the second period with one of his two 3-pointers to
extend the Colonials' lead to 40-23. Robert Morris held the Terriers without a
fast break basket in the second half.
Robert Morris outrebounded St. Francis, 38-24.

Smithfield, RI (Sports Network) - Rashad Whack tallied 19 points, eight
rebounds and four assists as the fifth-seeded Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers
used a second-half surge to take down the fourth-seeded Bryant Bulldogs,
75-69, in the quarterfinal round of the Northeast Conference Tournament at
Chace Athletic Center.
Shivaughn Wiggins scored 16 points for Mount St. Mary's (17-13), while Raven
Barber and Julian Norfleet netted 14 points apiece. The Mountaineers will take
on top-seeded Robert Morris in the semifinals on Saturday
For Bryant (19-11), Alex Francis recorded 25 points, while Dyami Starks poured
in 19 points. Vlad Kondratyev and Frankie Dobbs contributed 12 and 10 points,
respectively.
Bryant controlled the first half, outshooting Mount St. Mary's from the field,
48.4 percent to 28 percent, as it took a 35-28 lead into intermission. The
Mountaineers kept the game within striking distance by shooting 11-of-12 from
the foul line in the opening 20 minutes.
Mount St. Mary's came storming back in the second half and used an 11-2 run to
take an eight-point lead with 6:28 left. Bryant was never closer than four
points of the lead the rest of the way.
The Mountaineers sealed their fate at the charity stripe with an outstanding
26-of-27 showing.

Brooklyn, NY (Sports Network) - C.J. Garner netted 30 points for the second
straight game to lead the Long Island Blackbirds to a 91-83 win over the
Quinnipiac Bobcats in the quarterfinals of the Northeast Conference tournament
at the Wellness, Recreation and Athletic Center.
NEC player of the year Jamal Olasewere added 20 points for Long Island
(18-13), which advanced to the semifinals to face Wagner. Brandon Thompson and
Jason Brickman scored 13 and 10 points, respectively.
Ousmane Drame led Quinnipiac (15-16) with 23 points and nine rebounds. Evan
Conti and Ike Azotam scored 14 points apiece while Jamee Jackson had 10 points
and nine boards.
Drame provided a boost for Quinnipiac off the bench with 13 points and seven
rebounds in the first half. The Bobcats shot 11-of-12 as a team from the foul
line and outrebounded Long Island, 21-14, en route to a 47-43 halftime edge.
QU led 75-68 with 6:17 left in the game after a Conti triple, but the home
team responded with seven consecutive points to knot the score. With the score
tied at 80-80, LIU ran off 11 of the last 14 points, including a breakaway
dunk by Kenny Onyechi with less than a minute left.
LIU won despite being outrebounded, 47-32.
