The attrition continues to mount for the Tennessee Vols’ football team as they prepare to host Missouri in a critical Southeastern Conference Eastern Division matchup Saturday replete with title implications.
Freshman tailback Jeremy Lewis, one of the final players added to Butch Jones’ 2016 signing class and a summer enrollee, is not practicing with the team and intends to transfer from the Tennessee football program, multiple sources on campus told 247Sports this week. Lewis was not a part of the Vols' 49-36 win against Kentucky last Saturday and has not joined the team this week for practice.
A 6-foot-1, 195-pound tailback from Lone Grove, Okla., Lewis owns limited action this year primarily on special teams, working more so in that area in recent weeks following a spate of injuries to the Vols. Lewis’ only carries this season stem from Tennessee’s romp two weeks ago against Tennessee Tech on homecoming, garnering mop-up duties with six carries for 34 yards. Lewis' bio on UTsports.com also features none of his personal information and any stats from this season.
