With stretch and two periods of open practice, here are the 247Sports and GoVols247 staff views from today’s work.

WES RUCKER’S VIEWS:

The gamesmanship from Butch Jones and his staff for the media practice periods today was pretty solid — though I’ll forgive them for that this week, considering Texas A&M shows practically nothing to its beat writers aside from what they see on game day.

It was more humorous than anything, at least from this vantage point. There were no players in green, limited-contact jerseys, and all six of the team’s potential offensive line starters — Brett KendrickJashon RobertsonDylan Wiesman, Jack Jones,Chance Hall and Coleman Thomas — went through first-team sled-pushing drills. It stands to reason that Thomas will remain on the outside looking in to this week’s first five, but the Vols weren’t about to publicly concede that during Tuesday’s practice.
