Josh Dobbs will play his final game at Neyland Stadium on Saturday. The senior quarterback has contributed a great deal to the Knoxville community, performed well in the classroom and lead the Vols to some important victories - snapping bad streaks and winning bowl games.
Here are Dobbs' top five performances as a Vol:
5. Battle at Bristol vs. Virginia Tech
10-19, 91 yards, 3 TDs, INT
14 carries, 106 yards, 2 TDs
On the biggest college football stage ever, Bristol Motor Speedway, Dobbs jump started the Vols offense with a long 40-yard run in the second quarter. He rushed for 106 yards and two scores and threw for three more touchdowns in the win over Virginia Tech.
4. 2016 vs. Kentucky
11-17, 223 yards, 3 TDs, INT
14 carries, 147 yards, 2 TDs
3. Breaking the streak vs. Florida
16-32, 319 yards, 4 TDs, 2 INTs
17 carries, 80 yards, TD
When Tennessee needed him the most, Dobbs was at his best, standing in the pocket and taking hit after hit while delivering throws right on the money to lead Tennessee back from a 21-0 deficit to beat the hated Gators for the first time since 2004.
2. Beating Georgia in the Smokey Greys
25-42, 312 yards, 3 TDs, INT
18 carries, 118 yards, 2 TDs
1. Comeback at South Carolina
23-40, 301 yards, 2 TDs, INT
24 carries, 166 yards, 3 TDs
An important victory that helped Tennessee move the program forward by getting to a bowl game for the first time since 2010. In his first start of the season, sophomore Dobbs rushed for a career-high 166 yards and three touchdowns. He also threw for 301 yards and two scores, becoming the first Vol to ever rush for 100 and throw for 300 in the same game. Dobbs led the Vols down field for two touchdowns in the final two minutes of the game to force overtime, where the Vols would claim victory.
