Carmichael picks Vols; UT gets three commits in one day

Willie Carmichael, a three-star prep forward from Apopka, FL, announced his intention to play for Tennessee basketball on twitter Tuesday night.

Carmichael, who originally signed with Vols coach Donnie Tyndall at Southern Miss, tweeted, "Officially a Tennessee Volunteer #VFL" at 8 p.m.

The 6-foot-7, 195-pound Carmichael joined IUPUI transfer Ian Chiles, and fellow former USM signee Devon Baulkman to make a trio of Tuesday commits for Tyndall and his staff.

Baulkman was the only one who had officially signed as of late Tuesday night.

According to his page, Carmichael had additional offers from several schools, including Cincinnati, Tulsa and Wichita State.

Carmichael, Chiles and Baulkman join Jabari McGhee, Eric McKnight, Detrick Mostella and Kevin Punter in the 2014 class. All are eligible immediately.
