Volquest: Vols sign four-star guard Detrick Mostella

KNOXVILLE (Volquest) - Volquest.com's Rob Lewis reports that Tennessee has signed four-star guard Detrick Mostella, but that Mostella must still pass NCAA Clearinghouse to become eligible.

Mostella is listed at 6-foot-3 by Yahoo/Rivals, and originally signed with Oklahoma State as part of the 2013 class, but was released by the Cowboys before playing there.

Mostella then committed to Pittsburgh, but did not play for the Panthers.

New Vols coach Donnie Tyndall has now signed three players since arriving on campus. In addition to Mostella, guard Kevin Punter and forward Jabari McGhee are expected to be on campus next season.

On Monday, point guard Darius Thompson and forward A.J. Davis received their release from the team. Both would have been sophomores.

The addition of Mostella would leave the Vols with 5 open scholarships for the 2014-15 season.
